Education in the DeWitt Area

Ekstrand Elementary School Volunteer Help - The volunteer program at the elementary level is important to the success of the students. The staff receives support from many people, including parents, community members, high school service learners, alternative school students, and business partners. These volunteers work with individual students or small groups of students to help improve academic, social and behavioral skills.

Creative Learning Center

Business and School Partnerships - Business partners work with classes to create links between what is happening in the classroom and the world of work.

Public High School - A wide variety of challenging courses are offered at Central Community High School. This year there are two advanced placement courses. Student completing an assessment Central High School at the end of this course and receive an adequate score receive college credit. Six honors courses are also offered.

Alternative Program - The Central Alternative Program (CAP) offers an alternative program to students who benefit from an alternative school setting. The program is entering into its third year with 26 students currently enrolled.
